How is Online COD MW2 on the PS3

I was getting owned when I started. You'll get a lot better with time, especially once you unlock nicer weapons (and a red dot sight).

I hope for PS3 owners' sakes that the MW2 online experience is better than COD4's (at least when it launched)...

Learn the maps, and play defensively. That doesn't mean camping, just stay back, try to hold territory but fall back when you get out-numbered. Always fight on your own terms, use cover and have them come to you.

As for weapons, I could easily argue that the best gun in the game is the FAMAS with Stopping Power, both the gun and the perk are avaible from the very start of the game. As for other perks, Scavenger and Commando are easily two of my favorites, and I believe both of those are also available from the very start. You'll want to unlock the Pro versions of each but that's not too tough.

By the way, the FAMAS is not actually my choice for best gun, but it's very easy to argue it is. Also, use the Painkiller deathstreak once it's unlocked.

xbot fanbois and non-ps3 owners still trying to fan the flames regarding the PSN online experience? come on, put it to rest already, especially for a game like MW2. There's a large install base, I never have any problems connecting or finding games. The connection is fine, you still get the odd ball low ping guy that connects with you somehow, Xbox Live is suppose to minimize that, but you still get those on Live also.

Yes, I own both systems, and the only advantage I get with Live is the chat system. Connection, matchmaking, hosting advantage...etc is the same. I do spend more time having to mute people on Live since everyone has a mic, but that's about it.

so seriously, just get it for the system you have more friends on or friends you want to play with.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not an Xbox fanboy. I just remember playing COD4 with my friends that had PS3s while I used my roommates' PS3, and we always had trouble making a game start properly (it kept booting us, even when I tried playing by myself online). I'm sure PSN has had alot of wrinkles ironed out of it since then.

My biggest and only qualm with the PS3 is the controller. I'm not a fan of the decreased resistance the analog sticks have compared to the PS2 and 360 controllers, especially for shooters, plus the fact that they're not offset like the 360. Finally, I find the L2/R2 "triggers" absolutely, positively ATROCIOUS. It feels so incredibly awkward keeping them depressed in games like Motorstorm. I seriously won't believe that they tested this horrid idea before releasing it to the public. I know it's only my opinion, but seriously....dude.......

Meh, it's what you're used to. I detest the offset analogue sticks of the 360 and <$5 gets you some Real Triggers that I have used for years on all my PS3 controllers.

I still don't understand why Sony hasn't updated their controller. Games have evolved and FPSs are hugely popular yet the Sony is still using the same general design for their controller since the original Playstation.

The controller needs to be a little larger and all four triggers need to be repositioned. The D-buttons and four face buttons should be moved further out and slightly down. They should be inline with the sweeping motion a thumb makes after leaving the thumb sticks. I don't mind the sticks where they're currently located, but I do find the 360's offset sticks to be more comfortable.

The 360's controller has its issues, too. I think the RB and LB buttons are mounted way too high. For 90% of the games, they're fine, but every once in a while a game makes great use of those buttons. A player has to pivot their wrist instead of just moving your finger up. If it's a game that requires the player to constantly use LB/RB in a quick manner and then return to the triggers it can be uncomfortable.
