When the government is paying costs go up. Nothing is cheaper if the government is involved.

The government is the problem, not the solution.

I absolutely hate this saying and I mark it as a significant starting point towards the dysfunctional DC we have as well as the beginning of the dumbing down of conservatives. Ron R. was a man lacking vision. The government is neither the problem nor the solution. It is the application of power which is problematic. Governments are large scale organizations which have power over the citizen. Power increases over time and so to trust it as a savior is incredibly naive. The price of freedom is eternal vigilance and in those words lie wisdom. Even so we created a government out of need. A social construct which was bound to be the servant not master. It is not the problem. It is not the solution. It's proper place is to facilitate, to liberate, to promote and foster liberty. That means we give it power over us. When that power is improperly applied it becomes a problem. Yet the stupidity which was Ron sought to make it a villain and the free market a saint. In that spirit he allowed the theft of the retirement of millions. In his foolishness he kept us hostage to the Middle East by killing research which could have completely freed us of them by now. He was an actor, not a leader. A cult of personality, and if I had to compare two presidents as most alike I'd pick him and Obama.

I would rather sit down with Hubert Humphrey and Barry Goldwater than either than those two. I might disagree strongly with either HH or BG on many things, but they could sit down and get good things done putting the interests of others above their partisanship. Far from perfect, in fact in some ways spooky, a genuine interest in freedom and wellbeing could be had from them. Ron gave us slogans and eating ourselves alive. What a waste of charisma.

The government must play a vital role in the facilitation of substantive and positive change in the system we now have. It is not capable of being the leader. It's too big and stupid, but it can provide support for those who can and must lead. That would not be politicians.

Don't need single payer if businesses, insurance companies, and the medical professions worked together voluntarily to keep people healthy and the costs down including the uninsured below 5%, in the long run it pays greater societal dividends including profits for companies since a healthier population is far more productive than a sick one,

But in todays me first society the hell with everyone else, where protecting profits is more important than legitimate competition like allowing drug companies to write laws were the government can't negotiate prices and insurance companies can't compete across state lines among other things I don't see it happening and Obamacare is not the answer, just a clever way to push costs down to the little people.

Size matters. Keep pretending that it doesn't. After all, you must keep up your belief that women love your micro-dick.
