Why do people think that Mitt Romney offending the British will hurt him in the election? If anything it would help...

You know who else offended the British? George Washington

The issue isn't simply that he offended the British. The issue is that he went overseas to try to look "presidential" and instead came off looking like a fucking moron.

I don't want a fucking moron in the White House.

He might be reasonable, he might not be. Who knows? The man has at least 2 completely different viewpoints about everything, depending on whom he's speaking to.

Well, shit. So did Lincoln. But he lived in a world without internet, television, radio...and the daily news cycle.

just sayin'

too late

but what's the issue with him talking about the security concerns? We do have US citizens over there that could possibly be targeted.

of course, I'm sure the Brits found this to be offensive too

"I'm looking forward to the bust of Winston Churchill being in the Oval Office again."

I don't recall anyone ever saying that. Must be something the echo chamber made up.

On one hand I feel bad for Willard. His comments were very mild, almost innocuous, in my view. But I don't operate in the world of diplomacy and this instance shows what happens when you put an raw neophyte on the world stage.

Ironically this is exactly what the GOP'rs were claiming the "community activist" would do four years ago before Obama's actual performance in Europe proved them 100% wrong.

At this point I bet Willard is praying for some sort of crisis in the US for an excuse to cut his trip short.

Yes. That is exactly what he said.

Here's a tip: Lies should have at least a little bit of truth mixed in so that they are actually believable.

Edit: And yes, I have watched the entire video of his remarks.

Maybe you haven't been keeping up with current events, but the British are now our allies.

fine I lied, it just drives me nuts, I loose control when I see politicians trying to divide people, creating divides based on economic, racial or any other social lines... its just unacceptable, specially coming from the Leader of a country, its outrageous. Fear the rich white guys, they build their money on your back, they are not paying their fair share, them rich white folks, they are the villeins. So much for bringing people together...

How is he expected to bring people together when he's so obviously not one of us?
