Well...looks like a tough start :)

this observation had me LOL from the article below:

“Mitt Romney is perhaps the only politician who could start a trip that was supposed to be a charm offensive by being utterly devoid of charm and mildly offensive.”

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/wor...t-Romney-doesnt-like-us-we-shouldnt-care.html

The first stop in England was supposed to be the EASY one Mitt. Good luck in Israel and Poland.

And David Cameron's comeback to Romney's belittling of the Olympic preparations is pure gold:

"He <Cameron> also noted that London is “one of the busiest, most active, bustling cities anywhere in the world.” In a possible swipe at Salt Lake City, which hosted the Olympics that Romney organized in 2002, he <Cameron> added: “Of course it’s easier if you hold an Olympic Games in the middle of nowhere.”

They already know from experience that austerity will not help your nation recover so it makes sense that they would look at him like he is a moron whenever he talks.

My guess....probably lukewarm at best. Most of the world isn't anywhere near as far to the right as the Republican party is here, so he isn't likely to get too warm of a reception.

Then again, we will likely find out as time progresses towards November. I'll have to keep an open mind.

The big question is what he will say to Netanyahu.
Ol' Bibi is looking for a pledge to support an attack on Iran.
Wait til he meets Mitt "I strongly support both sides of the issue" Romney.
Of course Mitt will probably order milk with his steak....

Why do people continue to say this guy is "intelligent" and a "good manager"?

Honestly.. he comes across as utterly incompetent any time he is doing anything but reading an Obama-bashing speech to a room full of supporters.

He's a numbers guy. But definitely not a people's person. To me he looks weak. Like a grandmother.

He'd already questioned the preparedness of Britain to host the Olympic Games and today Mitt Romney added to the gaffe-count of his UK visit by appearing to forget Ed Miliband's name during a press conference.

Speculation on the social networking site Twitter was centered on whether Mr had forgotten the Labour leader's name or didn't in fact know it in the first place.

At a press conference the possible-future-president of the United States referred to Ed Miliband as 'Mr Leader'.

Mr Romney said: "Like you, Mr Leader, I look forward to our conversations this morning ... and recognise, of course, the unique relationship that exists between our nations, our commitment to common values, our commitment to peace in the world and our desire to see a stronger and growing economy."

Mr Romney had already been perilously close to offending his British hosts by questioning the preparedness of London for the Olympics.

Speaking to NBC news Romney ahead of today's meetings Romney said, “It's hard to know just how well it will turn out.

“There are a few things that were disconcerting.

“The stories about the private security firm not having enough people, the supposed strike of the immigration and customs officials - that obviously is not something which is encouraging.”

He also questioned the British enthusiasm for the Olympics, asking: "Do they come together and celebrate the Olympic moment? And that's something which we only find out once the Games actually begin," he said.

British Prime Minister, David Cameron, was later prompted to respond to Romney's comments saying: "We are holding an Olympic Games in one of the busiest, most active, bustling cities anywhere in the world. Of course it's easier if you hold an Olympic Games in the middle of nowhere."

This appeared to be a reference to Utah, which was the site of the games that Romney managed.

LOL.......

This is a microcosm of why Romney will lose the election -- he's an asshole. Every time he opens his mouth he turns people off.

His favorables will dive during the debates and that will be that.

Hopefully he'll drag a bunch of fellow "conservative" travelers down with him.

He's actually one of the most reasonable of Repubs, outside of being an offshoring tax weasel who epitomizes the practices of the lootocracy.

I was kind of thinking the same thing. He seems to say something very snobbish or condescending pretty much every time he opens his mouth.

Hopefully he'll drag a bunch of fellow "conservative" travelers down with him.

He might be reasonable, he might not be. Who knows? The man has at least 2 completely different viewpoints about everything, depending on whom he's speaking to.

I think he will improve in the debates against Obama. He's learned his lesson, he will only ask to wager a bet of $7,000 dollars instead of $10,000 like in the last R debates.

Wow, less than a day there and he has both conservatives and labour calling him an asshole.
Mayor Boris Johnson publicly mocked him in a pre-Olympic rally in front of 60000 people.

"Worse than Sarah Palin."

Positive spin: Mr. Romney proves himself a unifier!
