It can be a small world sometimes. When I was driving a long-haul truck I met a driver at one of the company terminals who was working in the tower when that plane crashed. He wasn't controlling traffic, but he and just about everybody associated with that airport was fired. Guam is apparently a very political territory.

See that KAL logo on the tail in the linked photo? When in flight, there is always a light shining on it. I've heard more than once that it's to avoid Soviet shoot-downs.

Maybe you'll get lucky and they'll fly into Korea over the East China Sea or the southern mainland of Japan.
