Whose rights were denied in these cases? Ms Davis used the power of her office to deprive people of their rights. She is the persecutor, not the victim.

Yep, it's a pretty basic, simple concept to understand, but we are dealing with myopic holy rollers here.

And, right on cue, the martyr-esque "we're being persecuted!" theater that I spit on the other day is kicking off well, with Fuckabee leading the charge, big surprise.

If I hear one more idiotic religious shithead liken this bitch to Rosa Parks I'm going to be ill. American conservatives might be dealing with something worse than this CBD stuff if they can state that with a straight face and really believe it. Put down your bibles and get some basic, pretty recent history under your belts before making yourselves look like even bigger tools than normal. When you do, and providing you're not a shameless partisan douchebag like Huckabee, you'll notice that your Kentucky hero's historical analog is GEORGE FUCKING WALLACE, not Rosa Parks!

Religious idiots are on the wrong side of history. Again. Fox can try to spin that all they want but those with an above room temperature IQ should know a lot better.

Would have honestly thought her as a hardcore, right-wing, backwoods, bible-thumping, nut republican. But she's a registered dem and ran under dem for her position.

Also, how the hell can she make 80K a year????????
In the northeast, she'd be making twice that.

And you think that no Democrats are homophobes or racists? Heck, more Democrats voted against civil rights legislation in the 60's than Republicans. And who were the slaveowners??? Democrats of course. And who were the KKK??? Democrats of course. Too bad the history books have all been changed due to revisionists, trying to cover up the Democrats' evil past.

You're one of the people who needs to hit the books again if you are really making references to Dixie Crats with any context.

For the record, I live in the NE, and am very familiar with about 8 or 9 town offices in my jurisdiction. Their salaries are a matter of public record, and I can tell you unequivocally that the vast majority make a lot less than Kim Davis. None of them make twice what she does.

Please get more informed before you post, thanks.

<snip>

Maybe you don't believe her, but, as a Christian, I can't hold her accountable to something she didn't believe in then

Ah yes, of course. But forcing those beliefs on people that don't believe is perfectly acceptable.

I live near Boston, and politicians here retire with 6 figures. Of course if you live in rural Maine, the salaries are low.

Dixiecrats were Democrats. You don't like it. You don't like your party's racist history. That's too bad. Too, too bad.

Even when I was a Republican I understood why this is such a stupid argument.
I'll tell you what is stupid. People like you who try to tell me that I am responsible for slavery and discrimination. All along, it was the Democrats who were responsible. And still is.

Oh goody, another uneducated republican who doesn't understand how parties changed in the 60s. I don't know how people as stupid as you are let out of school, were you homeschooled?

Of course you're not personally responsible for slavery, just people like you 150 years ago.

I live in Maine, as well as Vermont. Big cities have higher salaries, say it ain't so. You do realize she comes from a rural area of Kentucky, right? If the comparison doesn't fit, then don't use it. Pretty straight forward really.

I don't like racism if that's what you're saying, but yes they were, and providing you maintain your context and history-free mindset you can indeed make that claim. But people who value things like history and context know you are fooling yourself at best, at worst purposefully denying The Southern Strategy and what led to it. You sure you want to play this game? Do you know how many posters here have tried the same obtuse, "only names matter" schtick with regards to the South? I'll say it again, please get more informed before you post. You're not accomplishing anything beyond showing me I am correct here (but thanks?)

Btw, I'm not a Democrat, I'm a rehabilitated republican. Are you able to discuss issues based on facts, and without attempting a weak form of character assassination, or is that too, too bad as well?

But you do understand the parties flipped right? The democrats of 1930 were the south and the republicans of 2010 are south.

Or do you think all the people in the north moved to the north and brought the democratic party with them? That seems a little far fetched.

Then why all the outrage over the Confederate flag? Slavery was abolished 150 years ago!

Yes, typical Liberal response. Kill the messenger. Don't listen to the truth.

And by the way, I am the product of a Boston public education. And another insult? This time to home schooled kids? Studies show that they do better. And by the way, I'm not a Republican. I only vote that way because I my only other choices are Communists. Yes you are right. Things have changed since the 60's. Commies have taken over the Democratic party.

Lol, I like that phrase. I'm the same way but was never quite sure how to say it.

the guy wont even answer how old he is. Its amazing. Im guessing he is over 55 probably over 63. No one accuses anyone of being a commie unless they are old.

What does age have to do with it? I don't accuse people of being Communists. I just point it out. Be proud. Show your heritage. Slavery, voting against civil rights and your party absorbing the Communists. You can invent politically correct words like Progressive and Moving Forward, but we still know what they mean. You believe your own PC bs.

If you vote republican, that makes you a republican. I'm glad I could share this information with you. Does your belief that "commies" took over the Democratic party in the 60s happen to correspond with things like the Civil Rights movement and the Voting Rights Act?

Here is a fun game even you could probably follow along with! Look up members of the Democratic party in the south in the 60's. Then look at those same people after the passage of the Civil Rights Act. Notice which party they moved too. Also, compare and contrast political parties from the 1860's compared to now, maybe notice a trend.
