Well, according to a guy on another forum (i know, sort of shady sounding) He can run BioShock, at 1440*900 (native res) at High, and get 50+ FPS. Now, he does have 4GB RAM, and the 2.4GHz model. So, if you stick with the 2.2GHz model and the 2GB RAM, I would expect that you could easily set everything to Medium, plus some things on High

The 8600M GT is no slouch in terms of performance. May not be 7950GTXs in SLI, but no slouch all the same... and the SR Core 2 Duos are smokin

I remember seeing that before, and knew that they were close, but forgot that they were that close. Wow, kind of takes the edge off the 2.4GHz model non?

Civ 4 BTS and EVE-Online both run just fine on my XP Boot Camp partition. 17" High-Rez MBP here w/4GB RAM.

I seem to recall lots of screaming when it turned out WoW ran better on a MacBook Pro using Boot Camp and WinXP than it did on the Mac version under OSX. Haven't tried any FPS on one, though.

I seem to recall lots of screaming when it turned out that Windows usually installed and ran better on a Mac than it did on most Dells :)

My roommate got the 20" iMac with 2.4ghz C2D and Radeon HD2600Pro. He installed XP on it with Bootcamp.

He's been having various problems like artifacting and crashes. Seems to be heat related and something to do with the drivers identifying it as a HD2600XT (I assume a faster clocked Pro). So it's not all peachy and he's waiting on some Mobile Modder tool to release a new version. So I'm not really sure what the Mac offers if you're in XP most of the time (to play games) except driver problems due to bootcamp mean it's not going to be as stable or good as XP.

I have heard about these driver issues with teh ATi cards. The older imacs with the nVidia cards, the older MacBook Pros with teh ATi cards, the new MacBook Pros with the nVidia cards, the MacBooks and the Mac Pros all are great in Windows, generally better than another OEM due to the really great Apple drivers (with the apparent exception the new iMac, not sure what happened there)

I have a macbook pro with an 8600 GT (the better 15.4") and it runs games just fine. It is essentially running just the same as a pc. I have not had any problems with it at all. It does tend to get warm on the left hand side but it isn't bad. The speakers are pretty bad but I tend to use headphones. I played through the bioshock demo and medal of honor:airbourne on it without any troubles. Bioshock looked fantastic, btw.

MBP SR 2.4GHz here and I run TF2 with everything maxed at 1440x900 without a hitch on XP in bootcamp.
