frys here (arlington, tx) is advertising 512 sticks of pc2100 for $75. thats a good price and i need some ram for a system i'm building. is fry's ram ok, i'm guessing this is their generic stuff. i'll probably only try real light overclocking. worth my time?

If you're an occasional builder, it's fine. If you even think about OC'ing, no matter how light, or benchmarking, time to pick up some Crucial/Corsair/whatever big name brand.

I've had no problems with Fry's generic ram.
Did need to have a Toshiba stick replaced.
I'm in So.Calif. but have a daughter in Arlington
and have been to your Fry's --huge....

Hey, I was there yesterday. Wish I knew about that deal...

Fry's RAM seems alright for non intensive use, but if you're getting into o/cing, pick up some Corsair while you're there instead of generic. Better safe than sorry.
