I see all these fingerprint devices out there. How are they in terms of functionality? Good protection. Do they have there faults?

Our company just evaluated them. Some work well and some do not. There are established vendors who have very reliable devices that have been in use in the workplace for several years; theirs work. Home users should be more cautious. I know of one review of home fingerprint readers that found only one that was reliable and accurate; it costs about $40. Now, not to be left behind, Microsoft is coming out with its own reader in January, price unknown...but you can look for it on their page. I want the known device and will not wait for the MS one. Gummy Bears do fool the cheap readers and the older ones. Current algorithms are far more advanced than in the past. This technology works. Just wait 5 years and see these in all Passport checks and countless other "secure' locations.
