How is comcast cable?

GoingUp

Lifer
Just got into the detroit area and I will be needing intarweb access once I get my place. Do any of you have internet through comcast? How are the speeds? How is the service? What are the costs?

How is their cable tv?

They bumped everyone in my area up to 4m during the last week or so. It's rocking now even better than before.

I still hate Comcast and their customer service, but their speeds cannot be beat around here. Knology is still a hair under 3m.

I've had Comcast service for close to 2 years now, I haven't had many problems with outages and what not. The HSI works very well IMO. I also have the digital classic package with HDTV channels and the DVR service. I love having the ability to record a show that I may miss onto my DVR in HD and watch it whenever I want. It rocks .

With service and customer service, I'm very happy. With price, I'm not happy but my idea of idea is being paid a million dollars per second to have this service. I'm thinking that there's a slight chance that's not going to happen any time soon.

price is bad. they are way expensive compared to cox.

Customer service, I've found, is not too bad. the techs that come to your house SUCK and their entire system for delivering cable boxes/swapping boxes SUCK.

Speed is awesome.

Current special where I am living looks like I'm getting cable internet+TV for a year for ~$40/month through comast. I've never heard of a company with such bizzare pricing before, it seems like everyone pays something different.

Speeds are good, I do ~350k/sec+ sustained from Fileplanet.

I believe they are raising the speed over the entire network. Noticed my speed bump last night. I was grabbing at 480k/sec for an hour last night.

I have noticed that about the price also. I have phone, internet and tv w/HBO through them. My cable internet and tv bill went up like 15 bux last month. Now that I think about it I must be paying close to $150 for all three per month.

Comcast service is pretty good but we are paying over $150 a month for digital cable + HBO + DVR + internet.

I've had them for TV and internet for a year and a half now. Hands down, best I've had for either service. I can only think of one time whne the internet service was interupted, and that was no more than an hour. I have never lost TV signal.
I'm sure it all depends on location though. If you had a crappy cable company before, then they have what they inherited, although, from what I understand they tend to improve service when they buy a new system.
