I was at a store the other day and this dude called it Kachee, I was like what are you talking about and then I said cash and he said its called kachee.
I've only heard it mispronounced a few times. Once was at work with an eastern-Indian on the phone. He pronounced it "catch" and kept saying it over and over again "Oh, yes, catch. I know catch. I've cleared catch and cookies. Catch is gone. No more catch."
I thought it was funny. The more he said it, the funnier it got, too
ENn-n-n-n-n < sound of game show buzzer > I'm sorry, hammer09. That's the wrong answer, but Charley, please tell the audience about the fine consolation gifts we have for our departing contestants...
If someone says Cash-Shay - they either are misinformed or they are talking about "cachet" which is a mark of distinction (i.e. something entirely different)
My favorite way of mispronouncing it would have to be "kack" as said by my former roommate from Boston: "Clean my internet kack? whyda hell wouldahi wanna do that?"
