How is Bolt for a young kid?

StageLeft

No Lifer
It's PG, but I wonder if my 4 year old would like it. She normally doesn't like movies with any bad people in them at all, even G's it would seem. Why is this PG instead of G; what shoul I look out for?

there's really not any evil characters in this film.
the humor is catered more towards adults (as usual with "kiddie" films) and there's even touching moments.
if he/she liked shrek, kung fu panda, any of the pixars, he/she will enjoy this one. go watch it in 3D.

oh, the opening scene had the most violence - chase scene, explosions etc.
more suspense scattered throughout the movie.

My 5 yr old loved it... and she's a HUGE wuss with violence and "mean characters"
She did cower a bit in some scenes with the green-eyed man but she didn't die.

Thanks!

We just watched the chase scene on apple.com and it didn't cause too much dismay, at least when I assured them the dog would not be killed. Some of the helicopter pilots were, but they didn't mention that 🙂

We just saw it yesterday, daughter is 6 and hates anything scary. She was a little disturbed by the opening action sequence but once it got passed that the rest of the movie she was mostly OK. We didn't know what to expect or we probably would have not taken her. My son, 2 2/3 loved it, he got a little bored near the end but hung in there and watched the whole thing.

If you already saw the opening action sequence and that was not a concern, then I'd say the rest of the movie would be OK.
