upload kitten videos, embed 0.006s still image in the video, so the thumbnail preview shows boobs that no one ever actually sees in the videos.

I remember reading about some guy who got 4 million views on one of his videos and he said that would bring in about $5000 of ad money. So someone like jennamarbles who can release 4-5 videos a month that can achieve that many views would be making around $20,000 to $25,000 a month. Not bad. :hmm:

You can manually upload your own custom thumbnails now. Have been able to do that for over a year or so now.
But that would fall under deceptive tactics that go against TOS & can be flagged, removed or penalize the channel.

TBH I'm surprised internet advertising is even still profitable, especially because it's all through ad networks that get blocked anyway. So how many people actually do see those ads? Mostly people who just finished clean installing and forgot to reinstall adblock, they'll install it when they see the first annoying ad.

If ads have not gotten to a point where they are annoying there would not have been a need for adblock. Advertisers have shot themselves in the foot by going beyond simple static image banners.

You might be surprised at the number of people who surf naked. When you frequent tech sites, you get the feeling everyone locks their machines up like Fort Knox, but the general population is still in the 90s as near as I can tell.

I just started... Lot of short videos, only three with over 100 views. Almost everything is under a minute, but my income's actually growing. Kind of a volume approach: also known as throwing a lot of shit and seeing what sticks.

I'm using it to co-promote my website, so we'll see where it goes over time.

I wonder what happens when a typical user uses one of their four adware toolbars to search for Adblock? :hmm:
