Last time I checked my 1990 300ZX Twin Turbo was a Nissan 🙂

If you let me borrow it, I could check while driving it around the track 😉.

Speaking of Nissan, I recently returned from Newport, Oregon. I think I found the only place in the USA that has a Nissan and Toyota dealership under one roof.

Toyota and Nissan with same address in same building.

Must be some kind of a grandfather clause.

Just imagine when clientel wanders into 'enemy territory'...

salesman1: sir, you don't want to go over there. Our cars are so much..
salesman2: oh yeah keep it coming Harry, we're all bored of your NISMO-smismo speak over here day after day...
salesman1: STFU Larry you sack of...

lol...

If you go to Nissan.com, there's a pretty detailed account about how Nissan Motors is trying to sue them for $10 million.

He registered the name in 1991. Nissan's cars were still known as Datsun back then.

Nope, the Datsun name might still have been around elsewhere, but at least in the states all of the vehicles were branded Nissan since 1986.

I'm old enough to remember them selling cars under both brands...Datsun and Nissan.

I had a 76 Datsun pick up. Real POS truck, but it was cheap to own and operate. Got pretty good mileage for the time. (IIRC about 25 mpg)

In the 60's and 70's, their offerings weren't very good...just cheap. Even the Datsun 240 ZX wasn't a great car...just cheap for a sports car...and pretty quick.

And you would have lost your competitive edge against the big 3 and you'd be looking for a bailout.

Its the guys name and nissan motors doesnt want to play the capitalist game so fuck em.

I think that's what Nissan is saying to the guy who owns nissan.com. It's not really going to hurt Nissan to not own nissan.com; anyone who wants to find their website is still going to find it.

After wasting all of this guys time and over 2 million in lawyer fees, they only made Nissan pay him 58k. What a bunch of shit.
