For me it's:

10 passes of memtest #5
5 passes of memtest #8
30 min of OCCT
30 min of s&m
2 hours of prime95 torture blend.

All tests must pass error free. I've never experienced instability after this method, but everyone has their own way...

Prime stable is the only way to be.

Amazing that 10 people so far have admitted to running overclocked without it. Seems a bit ridiculous...perhaps these are the ones posting their screenshots and "amazing" benchmarks?

If it doesn't pass the Prime test, it fails. Period.

Mine is stable in everything EXCEPT prime.

My system is far from "amazing" :p

Depends on the test though. I've had periods where my cpu would run Prime stable at 2.7GHZ for 30+ hours, and periods where it would fail after 14 hours. At what point is it stable enough?????? I have run my CPU at 2.7GHZ w/o experiencing any crashes.

24 hours, minimum. If it fails after 14, it isn't stable. And you should repeat the 24-hour test along the way to verify stability.

Only if you use your computer for 10 minutes at a time. ;)

if it fails it's not stable, stop kidding yourselves that it's ok. it it fails then it's NOT STABLE.

Not nearly enough.. ON the right path though..

15 passes of Memtest is good, but 2 hours of the BLEND test, is absolutely worthless..

I shoot for 12 hours of Prime and SuperPI along side..

I voted NO

There is nothing I dislike more than having to start all over again on something because the computer is not perfectly stable.

You are WRONG sir. It has never ever failed ME, 100% stable always. Like I said, to each their own, if some other way works for YOU, great. I am just conveying what works for ME.

After owning/operating more than a few PC's since the first one I purchased in 1987, I have a good idea what a stable system is all about. My defintion of stabilty is when I can run all of my applications and games 100% glitch free. When running cpu intensive flight sims, like I do, and other games and apps for hours on end with nary a glitch, I've determined MY point of stability. And my test method has proved 100% good enough for ME. Maybe not enough for YOU, but that really doesn't mean a heck of alot to ME....

P95 is a joke, sorry to say.

I don't understand why it's looked upon as the holy grail of OCing stability tools, since there are better ones out there, like S&M, & P95 doesn't do a good job of finding stability anyway.

Back when i was having RAM issues with my Neo2, i could run P95 for hours perfectly, but playing UT2k4 would cause a crash within seconds
Such a great indicator it is...not!

Also, for those of you who claim that games, etc. will crash if P95 isn't stable. No. You are wrong too.
My X2 3800+ isn't P95 or S&M stable @ 2.6 GHz.
But i have never ever had any stability issue while playing the following games for hours at a time: UT2k4, FEAR, & Quake 4.
Also, i often re-encode video using DVD-RB & CCE for over 16 hours without stopping, & i've zero issues.

So do i care about P95? No. No. And no.
While it's an okay indicator of stability for some, it's certainly not the only one.

n7, everyone that I know who runs Prime95 also uses Memtest86 for memory testing.

Prime95 alone isn't good enough.

I used Prime95, SuperPi 32M, and memtest86 on this system.
