How important is ECC RAM in a server?

I'm building a simple server on a ECS K7S5A/Duron 1Ghz. The server is just going to run basic internet servers like Apache, and without much load. Should I use ECC RAM for this or just go with non-ECC?

If this is going to be a personal home server setup, then probably not important.

If this is going to be for a company, then going with ECC is a no-brainer.

Considering that you are going to be using a K7S5A motherboard, it seems your server fits into the first category. Purchasing ECC is optional in your case.
