in light of the strike in nyc, i was thinking, i know that not too many cities in this country have a 24/7 public transportation system. So how important is it? I figure for 2 bucks a ride its not such a bad deal.
But what if we got rid of service after say...1am? we can cut out a bunch of workers that way, probably save the MTA some cash, and maybe pay the union workers more.
But the flipside is, i don't know how many times the buses and trains have saved me at all hours of the morning...going home from work, going home to queens after partying all night in the city, etc...etc...etc...
I was in Stamford, CT partying one night, I tried to catch the train at around 12am, and I just missed the last train. STRANDED in buttfvck connecticut...
