How important are shims?

Hi, I bought a WBK38 to stick on my T-Bird, adn was wondering how important a copper shim was? Is it really that easy to crack the core. Also where would you guys buy the shims from? Thanks.

you don't need a shim. so long as you're careful, and don't do anything stupid(such as angle the heatsink) you'll be just fine 🙂

if you have a shimm , you might as well use it , if you dont , no problems just be extra carful! when you are installing your hsf!

or else you might cry... :frown:
