how i can password protect my shared folder on Window xp

Hi, i was wonder how i can password protect my shared folder on Window xp pro so that people on my network won't be able to access it w/o a password. thanks.

In XP Pro you can share a folder by name, and limit access to specific users. Not quite the same thing, but might get what you want.

make sure and remove the "everyone" group from the access list and then just add the groups/users you want to be able to access the folder. The catch is that if the username & pass they've logged into their computer with matches the one on the folder, they won't have to enter a username/password. So if you want to REALLY pw protect it, create a username & password specifically for that purpose and make it the only username that can access the folder over the network.

Thanks for the help guys, but for some reason there isn't anyone on my access list. I can't find my brother's and my mother's computer on my access list. When I type the name of their computer, for example 'trinity", it just tells me that it doesn't recognize anyone on the network with that name. Can anyone help?
