How how can I get with a week 40 Duron 800MHz?

Somehow my Duron 600MHz messed up (right after I unlocked it and got it to run stable at 950MHz, my motherboard'd beep when I tried to turn it on) and my dad went out and got a Duron 800MHz, though I wanted either a Duron 600MHz or 700MHz. I've heard that Duron 800MHz don't overclock as well as the others. I have an MSI K7T Pro2.. After I connect the L1 bridges, how high could I most likely go and at what voltage? I really don't want to risk messing up anything anymore (I have no idea how my Duron 600MHz messed up.. Temperatures were around 34 C., but I'd get some kind of RAM error on my Smart-LED on the motherboard, so.. I really don't know what the deal was. Sticking in the other Duron made it work fine, though).

maybe the connections on the L1 became skewed. have you tried reconnecting them?

Yeah, I rubbed them off and put them back on.. Started getting another error that had to do with RAM (didn't beep, though; just an LED thing).

did you try clearing CMOS?

Oh, I tried everything.. Took off the jumper, took out the battery.. Heck, I took out everything that plugged into the motherboard.

Did you check all of the little stupid stuff?

I went crazy with mine a few times.. although I have an A7V.. but just stupied stuff like all the FSB switches were backwards.. it was accidently set to jumpermode when I wasn't overclocking yet.. blah blah blah..
