How hot should my video card be getting?

Nocturnal

Under no load, no gaming, my card sits at a hefty 64 degrees celcius. Is this a little too hot for a Geforce 6800GT?

If so, what type of cooling would be necessary to get this card's temps down?

The reason I'm asking is I experience hard lock ups every so often and it has to do with overheating or some component be it my northbridge chip with an NB47J or my video card now that I think of it.

Thank you.

Naw you're fine, but if you are worried get a VGA cooler. I love my x800xl and its max load temp of 51C 😀

Hmmm...65C is what I usually get under full load, 48C idle. So, for idle, your's seems maybe a little warm. Is something next to the GPU fan (PCI card perhaps)?
