Right now I have a alpha pep on it. I know that isn't the fan that I should be using, but it is doing its job. I sanded down the feet of the alpha and it touches the chip perfectly. it is staying around 40-43 degree's. is this normal for the chip? if not, then please let me know so I can go out and buy a new fan for this chip. And no, I am not overclocking the chip.

This is my first post in a long, long time. My comps been down :(

that's perfect. what speed is your chip and vcore setting at? and is your thermastore touching the core or heatsink?

That's perfect? My MB says 29 for mine. Not too bad I guess :) Put a big glob of grease on it though, came with the HSF so I figured why not.

Looks like there's room to grow.

my tbird 800 with just a normal hs and fan runs at 30C..... your temp seems a bit high to me.

My Duron 650 also runs at 43 degrees, at default settings. I bought a board/processory combo, with the fan already installed though. Haven't checked to see if it's a decent connection, or if they used thermal compound.

I'm currently running stable, but I also haven't started overclocking yet and am worried about how my temerature will end up when I do.

Don't be a wuss... crank your Duron to 1.85v so you can pound out 1gHz! :D

My bothers Duron 600 with CORB runs at 43-45.

BTW, I didn't know you needed a

<< thermastore >>

to read the temp? The Durons/462's have an internal thermal diode, like the FC-PGA's.

running 600@900, 1.65v, ~43C. below 50C is fine. Make sure your thermistor is place accurately because your readings will be off if it is not (someone could make their cpu temp equal to their case temp if they are retarded enough).
