How high is Intel going to take Core 2 Duo on this process?

Seems like they have a lot of headroom seeing how well most chips are overclocking.

Makes me wonder if they are putting aside some of the chips that are really testing well for future releases or if they're just selling every damn chip they produce. Probably the latter.

Right now the market drives them to play the Watts/IPC game, and that means leaving some of that higher-end clockspeed on table for now so as to stay away from degrading their current metric of success.

Only reason they'd be pulled back into that game is if 65nm AMD sockets give them a run for their money in Q4/07 to Q1/08 as they begin transition to 45nm.
