How helpful is enabling Dual Channel to SETI, FaD, and F@H?

Will getting second stick to enable dual channel significantly impact crunching? Have an Athlon 2500+ oc'd to 3200+ on nforce2 Ultra400 board and a P4/2.4HT on 875 board. Thanks.

Well, it will have an impact but the question is how big that one will be. ON an average nforce2 system DualChannel boost the overall performance by about 3 to 7 %, mostly 5%. So u could see a 5% increase in DC projects as well, depending on how intensive they use the memory.

That's for AMD. No idea about Pentiums and DualChannel. :D

For AMD Athlon XP systems, about 5% increase.

For P4 systems, the gain is MUCH greater. The P4s need as much memory bandwidth as possible :)

FaD ONLY - 2600/A7N8X/2x256 PC3200 Corsair XMS LL. I yanked a memory stick, no change in FaD. Not running F@H or NEP (never-ending-project).
