Yeah, this is flamebait, and I'll probably never hear the end of it, but what the hell, I had to get it out sometime...Here goes.

Why is it, with some of the people here, that they can't make one simple move in their life without asking for advice in the forums?
Here's just one example out of many of the type-posts I'm ranting about: The question about what to eat for lunch with $13. How hard is it to decide what to eat for lunch? If you've already got an idea of what you're going to eat, and post about it in the original post, why not just eat that and be done with it?
Posts like that have lead me to believe that some people here can't figure out anything without the help of others, or, they are so starved for attention, that they will ask such meaningless questions in an attempt to gain some of that attention. I tend to believe the latter, because I don't think they would've made it this far in life not being able to figure out something so simple, unless, that is, they've been spoonfed by mommy your entire life.. But then again, they'd probably be asking which nipple to suck on.
The point in that example is, if you're trying to get an idea of something different to eat for lunch, why bother mentioning what you're probably going to get in the first place? I mean, come on already!

One other thing I want to rant about is something that I haven't noticed in a week or so, or maybe it's because I haven't read/lurked ATOT quite as much lately, but it tends to happen quite often: Speeding ticket threads. If there was a top 10 list of the most common type threads, speeding ticket posts would be very close to the top. With so many posts over the years about people getting speeding tickets, and asking how to get out of a ticket, or what they should do in their situation (which is typically the same or very similar to every other person's thread about tickets) regarding a ticket, the OP's of these threads should already know the answer they're going to get on here. A lot of these same threads come from people with post counts of well over 1000, so it's not like they haven't read at least 10 of the same type threads before.
Since it's pretty obvious that if the people that post these type threads did a search for previous posts regarding the same issues, they'd have their answer, it once again sounds as if the posters are just trying to gain everyone's attention, not honestly looking for an answer to their question, but more or less just trying to brag about it in a subtle way.
It reminds me of back in high school, when kids would get a ticket, often their first, by the time that ticket went to court or got paid off, the ticket itself would be ragged from the kid showing it off to all of their friends so they could see it.

I've given 2 examples of how it seems that so many people in here are starved for attention that they will post anything to try to get sympathy, or just get an answer or a reply, so that it will feed their hunger to know that someone read what they wrote.
For those of you that are guilty of this, what is wrong with you? What's gotten you so low in life that you resort to such things? How did you survive in life before ATOT, and do you plan to use this forum to live the rest of your life? I understand asking for advice here and there about meaningful things or stuff that someone could use advice about, but some of the things you ask for advice about in here are just ridiculous and childish. For the sake of the people around you, and to keep this forum from looking like a playground full of kids that can't do anything on their own in life, try making some decisions on your own without the advice of others.
The feeling of being able to do things on your own, ie being independent, will eventually give you much more of a feeling of accomplishment in life, than the little bit of euphoria you get now from getting the attention of others on an internet forum about every little movement you make in life. In a way, I see it as a psychological issue, and I see that you get some type of "high"/euphoria from getting that attention, but it's going to cause problems later on in life, if it hasn't created problems in your life already.

Anyone wanna flame me on all of this? Anyone agree with me on this? Comments? Rants?
Have a good day!
