My company just announced that their healthcare costs are going up $17,000,000 as a result of ACA and employees costs will be rising as well...not sure how much yet...should find out shortly.

I was just listening to NPR and they completely downplayed this. They said that this healthcare law has little to do with what employers are doing since they won't be mandated to have coverage for another year. Of course, they didn't say that many large employers want to preempt a rise in costs so they have already started to take action due to this law.

Seen this being discussed all to often here with one group saying "research shows it's going down" vs "My rates are going up, damn the research".

As far as I can tell, my rates will be about the same +\- $20 a month but the overall quality of the insurance will increase. With ACA the bottom line is I will be saving money.
