If retail and oem are different, which one can be done easily.
I'd like to take the fan off, put a passive cooling solution.
Thanks.
Btw I'm thinking pro-ati and oem-atlantis(Saphire).

Isn't it glued?
Does it have 2 holes to be fit with Zalman zm-50 or zm-80?
Thanks.

it's easy. just use a credit card and pry it off gently. don't put it in the freezer like some people say...you can end up with condensation that will kill your card.

as for holes i'm not sure. i usually glue the heatsinks right down onto a videocard. good luck.

Hmmm, I might just buy radeon9000 non pro from Saphire, since it doesn't have a fan.
Just need a dvi connector, and good 2d quality and dvd playback.
What makes me worry is it's driver support. I guess it doesn't use the drivers from ATI.
Do those Saphire card have any driver issues?
Thanks guys for the replies.

;) All Rad9x00 cards should use the generic ATI Catalyst drivers without any probs. Don't worry abotu individual manu's driver support as they are all pretty darn crap! The Rad9000 in pure 3D speed is only on par with a Rad7500, GF2TI or between the GF4MX420 and GF4MX440, if you aren't into gaming much the Rad9000 offers a nice sounding and high model number and excellent image quality, DVD playback, dual display & TVout.

That's what I want to hear.
I won't play games at all with this card.
That's perfect for my use.
I checked ATI site, and they have drivers for the cards powered by Ati.
Thanks a lot.:D
