I'd say 8800 GTS 640 MB, HD 2900 XT, or 8800 GTX.
Or 8800 Ultra if you like throwing away $$$ of course :D

Bear in mind, the aforementioned card are overkill for older games, & will undoubtedly be inadequate for some newer future titles i'm sure.

I'm thinking of getting the 8800 640 mb version and getting a 24" widescreen.

When do you think I would need to upgrade the video card to continue running this res with settings at medium-high-no AA. I know you don't know, but just guess anyway.

I'm also thinking of getting a 22". Suggestions?

I would go with the 24" plan.

22" are all TNs...so bleh.

8800 GTS 640 MB should be fine...for how long is hard to say, since we really haven't seen much of all the new DX10 titles yet.

Depends on the game really.. but something like 8800GTS/2900XT will do the job but a X1950XT or 7950GT will do fine with most game.

What BFG said. I got a Dell 2405FPW the day it came out, years ago now. Its *forced* me to upgrade many times. Even to SLI and Crossfire because I dont like slowdowns, and I dont like muddy graphics. But it all depends on what you can live with. Can you live with graphic options on medium, and low AA/AF? And yes, you (at least I do) still need AA at 1920x1200.

This is the reason I'm opting to go with the 22" version. As you can see in my sig, I hold on to my equipment.

most likely the 20" Dell monitor will look nicer than the 22", and they are the same res...

Well, WoW isnt exactly what I would call graphic intensive.

well i have a 8800 gts and a dell 2407 and I run all my games at 1900x1200 with eye candy and everything plays great. Of course im sure for some of the titles coming out later this year you may need something like a gtx or better to run eye candy.

My system is in my sig running on a Dell 2407 and everything still runs fantastic. The 8800's are some impressive cards at high res.

That's a top of the line system.. I'd hope it can "still" run 1920x1200
