How hard is it to reject EULA and get money for Windows back?

considering you've already paid for it when you bought your new computer, i don't think it is possible to request a partial refund on a component of the computer that you end up not wanting.

IIRC, there was a story on digg a while back about someone who tried to do just that. He claimed that he was successful, but they tried to get him to sign a nondisclosure agreement so as to keep the word from getting out too much. You wouldn't get your money back from the retail outfit, but from the OEM. You would probably have an easier time trying to squeeze water out of a chunk of granite.

You aren't buying Windows when you buy a PC. You're buying hardware that the manufacturer bought a license for. You don't own the license. Thus you don't have any rights to a refund.

Note that OEM software preloaded on a PC is not eligible.
Not eligible for a refund from Microsoft. The OEM would be handling any refund for OEM preloaded software.

I think it is a pain in the a** to jump through those hoops that Microsoft wants you to jump through.
