Well, I'm trying to think of a good senior project to do, and building a robot clicked in as something that might be entertaining. The project itself has to be 30+ hours of work, so kits might or might not work in this case. So, as for building robots from scratch, exactly how hard is it to make a simple robot that moves and relies on sensors for motion?. I'm scrolling through google right now, and I know its possible, but is it possible with a person that knows nothing about it?... I might be spending my summer learning about robotics.

Planning ahead is good.
Thanks.

I think programming is gonna be the hardest thing. Hardware is just installing it, getting the robot to correctly use it is gonna be the problem.

im assuming this is high school?

ive built several robots, some simple and some wicked complicated. the hardest part is going to be programming as tasmanian said unless you get a kit with software that comes bundled with example programs. you are being way too general to give you a better answer.
