How hard is it to get a MCSD?

I really want to get a MCSD, but I am wondering how difficult is it to attain from your point of view? Also is it worth it the time and effort? Thanks.

Gunther, what's an MCSD? Do you mean MCSE as in the MS tests, or I'm I completely clueless tonight?

MCSD. Stands for Microsoft Certified Solution Developer.
I don't know what it is, but it exists.

this is what a friend's friend said to him. he said that the mcsd is basically almost equivilent to a ba in comp sci i guess.

im sure if thats totally true or even some what true, but that's what he said a friend said.

I hope that's not true because that would suck, more work == bad 🙂

The MCSD is Microsoft's programming certification. You have several tracks to choose from, such as C++ or VB. If you don't have any previous programming experience, the MCSD will probably be somewhat difficult. I am in the process of trying to attain the MCSD certification myself, having just completed the MCSE on 2000 certification. Unlike the MCSE, the MCSD is unlikely to get you a programming job without experience. It is fairly easy to determine whether a job candidate can use a program language, whereas it is more difficult to determine whether a job candidate will be a good network administrator. However, getting the MCSD may get you a foot in the door somewhere, if a job is what you're after. There are many books and exam prep software out there to help you get the MCSD certification. To better answer your question, if you have experience, it won't take much time to get certified. If you don't have experience, then it would be probably be difficult. I wish you luck on your quest if you decide to pursue this certification!

Ya that's exactly what I want, my foot in the door, I don't expect any mid-high paying jobs, I just want a job that is better then working at bestbuy or some place like that 🙂 I do have previous programming exprience, so it sounds like it wont be that bad. Thanks, and good luck to you too hope we both get our mcsd certs soon 😉
