How hard is it to change your sleep habits?

I normally sleep on my stomach. Would the nights of sleeplessness of trying to change my sleep position to my side or back benefit in the long run over sleeping on my stomach or would it have little effect to the quality of sleep?

P.S. Stomach sleeping sucks if you have a SO

I dont think you can make a conscious choice....

My wife pokes me till I turn over because I snore.

this has been going on for 25 years.

get a bigger bed, or, if possible, try to wedge a pillow under one side of your stomach.

very hard to change that habit.

The pillow wedge is a good idea. I am naturally a side sleeper so its not a huge issue for me. They make special pillows for side sleepers, I think they can be found at BBB.

My grandpa sleeps with a small pillow between his knees. Supposedly it helps him but I dont know why.

I had to switch from sleeping on my stomach to my sides/back because my arms started falling asleep whenever I slept on my stomach. Not that big of a deal to consciously sleep in a different position.

I used to be a stomach sleeper as long as I remember until I was about 26 and I tried to become a back sleeper. It was weird at first, but like everything else, I got used to it.

Depending on how much rum i've had I sleep real good or on a heavy drinking night, I wake up early. Last night I had a real good buzz, went to bed at 12 and woke up at 4. When I drink heavy I wake up early. It's the ADHD. 🙂
