How Hard is Elementary Statistics?

When I transfered schools, I found out that for my new major I'd have to take elementary statistics. As someone who was able to get a decent grade in Differential Equations and Calc 2, how hard will these classes be? Also, will my Calc knowledge help at all?

Elementary Statistics is easy as hell. Calculus-based Statistics is considerably more difficult, but if you did fine in Calc II and DiffEq, you'll be fine.

Elementary statistics is straight forward. If you were able to do well in Differential Equations and Calc II, you should be fine for stats.

Yeah probably nothing too crazy. If it's anything like the stat course I took in high school, it will mainly consist of plugging data into your TI-83 and letting it do all the work for you.

Am currently taking a statistics course for engineers and it's a bit tougher, but not bad. If you did fine in Calc 2 and Diff Eq you shouldn't have any problems with it.

It's easy crap like 5 blue marbles, 8 red marbles. What are the chances I pick a blue one... Of course it goes up from there but it's not bad.

Just answer "50-50" for everything. Either something will happen or it won't. Your professor will love that.

The best part is, you could do that and still pass, because elementary statistics is easy. And I know this because that is exactly what my girlfriend did in statistics and she managed to float by... I'm honestly not sure how.

I figured it was a matter of time before someone cracked a joke like that 😛 It's good to hear that it's easy because I was planning on taking it over the summer and I really didn't want a huge workload over my break. The syllabus also seems to confirm what you guys are saying about ease : link. It'll be nice to take a math course that isn't too hard after Calc 2 and DiffEq.

I actually just had my first statistics test yesterday, and even though ours is more calc based it was still the easiest thing ever. It's basically recognizing the formula you need and plugging numbers in.

Wow, that's a far cry from my prior math courses. They tended to be all application rather than just plain memorization.
