Legacy GT?

I may give that a look but I hope it looks more exciting in person. I guess we will also hit the Ford dealer and take a look at the SHO. Dodge/Crysler products have been nixed because we have no drive-ins or drive-bys in our hood.

In person it actually is less impressive to look at.

One of my friends was recently shopping in the same market as you and tried out the Taurus SHO/Legacy GT as well.

He drives an 06 Accord right now and commented on how cheap the Legacy felt inside compared to everything, the car we were test driving felt really plasticy for how much they wanted for it. He also commented on how cheaply built the steering wheel felt.

He liked the SHO a lot but it was a bit too big for his tastes.

He ended up with an 2010 A4 Premium Plus.

Got the authorization to retire the 02 Max SE and get a new G37 Sport (6 speed/4 door) and can only find one within 200 miles and it is some type of ugly Teal color. Are these always that difficult to find or do they have to be ordered?

UPDATE 7/27/2010

We went and test drove the G37X S sedan and was severely disappointed. The interior is nice, the fit and finish were superb, the drivetrain sucked. The 3.7 hooked up to the 7 speed auto with paddle shifters (pure gimmick) was anemic. My 3.5 VQ seemed to have more punch but mine does have the 6MT. I really wanted to like the G but could not see spending $40K on something I didn't absolutely love.

We will probably see if there are good discounts on the 335i this fall/winter or wait until we can driver the G with the 6MT. Wife does not like the Evo or STI so I am exploring other options for a fun family sedan.

Those flappy paddle "shifters" hooked to an automatic transmission are pure shit. My wife's car has that and I agree with you 100%. It is nothing more than a completely worthless gimmick. I love manual transmission cars and I NEVER use it on her car because it sucks cock.

They're quite alright in the R8 once you get used to them. Didn't have much of a choice there though. Audi didn't have any manuals at the time.

Manual sucks too IMHO, it's the engine. Sure it's got a flat power curve, so it will bore you to death in a linear fashion all the while sounding like a dump truck that vibrates like a Honda 4 cylinder with blown engine mounts.

OP do you need AWD? Test a RWD model instead, and yea the VQ37 has a bit less low end TQ so thats why you dont feel it as much, plug the X weights a bit more + drive train loss from AT

The dealership only had the AWD versions of the sedan. They didn't even have a coupe in the 6MT. It all good, I am scheduled to have my ACL reconstructed and won't be able to drive a manual for a couple months anyway.
