How green are you? Do you RECYCLE?

My wife and I try to recycle everything we can...some of the plastics cannot be done around where I live.

I dont understand why there is not some mandate that a recycling utility have all types of recycling.

i need to get a burn barrel this summer so i can start burning most of my trash

I recycle my cans and bottles, and I recycle probably 15 lbs. of paper a week at home.

At work, I shred close to 100 lbs of paper every couple days. It all gets recycled.

I don't know how it works where you are, but all I do is throw cans, newspaper, plastic items into a bin the city provides and set it out for pick-up every tuesday.

I also recycle nothing...i make fishnets out of sixpack holders...I bury styrofoam in the forest...I burn plastic bottles in my back yard...

many cities that have instituted recycling programs have no place to sell/give the stuff to. so they take it and dump it into the same land fill as the "normal" garbage

so it is just a trick that wastes peoples time

I ride the bus when I don't have to pick up or drop off my kid at pre-school.

I ride my bike when the weather is good.

Exactly, i mean i recycle and stuff, but for all of you don't think that you are saving the world by doing it , there is just to much stuff and not enough man power to be able to sort through all of it.

Hell, we dont even have trash pick up. We have to load up the pickup and haul it all to the dump bi-weekly. Costs $10-$15/load depending on weight.

every sunday, I get a stack of sunday newspaper(10 copies), I always throw it out like all other garbages.
