How great a performance difference between 16bit and CardBus?

I need to buy a LAN 10/100 PC Card right now.
The price for the 3COM CardBus LAN PC card is quite a bit more than the PCMCIA 16bit version... Does the increase in performance justify the price difference? And yes, performance is a top priority for me.
 
huge difference, espeically in processor useage due to cardbus (aka busmastering in the pci world) Definetly get the cardbus version of any pcmcia card assume you have a laptop that can support it (less the 3 years old)
