How good is your ISP?

We just switched ISPs - from stinking Verio to SAVVIS Communications. Now it takes ONE hop to get out of the SAVVIS network onto the commodity Internet - just like they promised.

A very useful tool for monitoring your connection is mrtg. I use Pacbell and my usage/reliability is here: http://www.dszd0g.org/mrtg. The most interesting graph to look at is the "Incoming Unknowns and Incoming Timeouts." The blue line (Timeouts) should be at a solid two due to one of the programs we run. When it is higher than 2 packets are being dropped due to lag and when it is at 0 the connection is down.

I also run a continuous mtr (Matt's Traceroute) to monitor lag, I just have been too lazy to create a web page out of the data.
