How good is the Compaq laptop wireless multiport module??

How does Compaq's multiport on their laptops perform compared to PC cards like the Orinoco Gold??

Thst really depends..

I have a Dell TrueMobile in my laptop, an internal Mini-PCI card.
it doesnt get as good range as some others because it is inside the laptop, but like most cards out there nowadays it is based upon the Agere chipset.

i believe the Compaq cards are agere based chipsets, so they should perform as well as any other Orincoco style PCMCIA card.

supposedly they are better cause the multiport is in the monitor. but its really expensive so i dunno the value.

Yeah, supposedly, because the antenna is spread out or something, but where can I find verification of this?
