I think I used it before and it was okay. I've been real happy with the personal/free version of AntiVir though. Maybe I'll try out MSEE if I'm bored some day.

Pretty much the best for Windows...After all MS wrote the OS for the viruses in the first place right?

Avast>MSSE

Not really. I do tech support for both. From my expereice supporting 60000 users, MSE is the best free AV out there. Avast and AVG tend to get pwned by rogue antivirus, where MSE can remove about 50% of them. You have to go to Malwarebytes to get into the 90% removal rate.

If you don't have a "legit" copy of windows, your torrent sucks. I got mine within a week of win7 coming out and it still passes validation.

Agree, who uses torrent any more?

I use Norton Internet security, it works pretty good but is resource intensive and slows down the boot up process significantly. Ill try the Microsoft shit when my subscription expires in 400+ days........

I've been using it for a couple years and haven't been infected with anything.
My boss has been testing it at work and it has caught things faster than our corporate trend micro install

testing security essentials, or the microsoft forefront threat management gateway and client ?

i use MSE at home without any issues. works fine. at work the hospital uses mcafee...ugh. the last school I was at used sophos, which worked ok if it was up to date... but their support documentation is horrible and the auto-updater is sketchy at best.

I was really impresses with Norton Internet Security 2011 when I tried the trial. It ran extremely light while offering plenty of features and a nice ui. Nothing like the norton of old.
