I am waiting for my check for next week to arrive then I'm heading out to buy this game. From the previews looks like as good as the original if not better. But has anyone bought this play it yet? If so, what's your impression? I think I'd buy it anyways, but just wondering.

I'd like to hear also, I never got around to playing the beta. Is it worth it?

The beta pwned ass. The game has gotten no less than an 8.0 in all reviews, so it's a good game. They really chaffed its single player, but it definitely refreshes the MP. I wasn't too keen on CoH at all, but this totally resparked my interest. It's definitely one of the best RTS game complements I have played.
I don't know about the new vehicle AI, but vehicles seemed more responsive, and I don't know about the new gameplay modes; I think someone said they removed those. They certainly weren't available for the beta.

As much as I liked CoH, I'm going to pass no matter if its good or bad. Just don't feel like playing it or something similar again...

Why? The game pwns. Hard.

It was so refreshing playing as the British and the PE. Completely.

Feels like a totally different game now, but in a good way. Getting used to the brits and the panzers is taking me more time than the others did, but I think it'll just be a matter of time.

Meh, the Brits are awesome in my opinion, I use them as an offensive force.

Got a question for any of you people that own the game.
Does the game require you to register the game prior to playing?

I just bought it but when the game starts it asks me to create an account (I've patched to the latest version), I am not able to see the entire screen due to the auto resolution implemented by the game so I'm not sure if there is an option for single player/lan that I am not able to see.

Btw the THQ site was getting hammered, otherwise I'd look in their support forums.

Damn, I dunno about that one, for the vanilla, you had to register an account.

Okay it's gotten even odder, I started to fill in the registration info and cancelled out of the game then restarted and it now validates the dvd-rom. Now it doesn't offer me the option to create an account, however there's a log-in option in the upper right hand corner. When I click on the log in (it should take me to the account creation screen) it now does nothing.

Really whacky! Oh well at least I can start practicing in single player or skirmish mode now. Maybe I'll try a re-install.

Can the enemy still fire through building and mountains ?
I loved the first COH until the destroy the rockets mission.
The enemy were hitting my guys when they were on the top, through stairs, etc.

I wish I'd played the beta. I got into it and downloaded it, but never bothered after I had difficulty getting into a game the first time. It sounds good. I think I'll test my rusty skills aganist the Brits and PE online.

Okay I think I figured out the whole account screen vs mission/gameplay screen options presented when you start the game. If the game detects an internet connection it will ask you to log in or create an account, if no internet connection is present it defaults to the regular game setup screen.

So no internet connection should be required for lan play if my hunch is accurate.

I'm still on the classic version but all I can say is that forcing a 1.8GB patch download is a bit much. I played the hill last night - US with a couple of brits against 1 regular german and one elite - and the game took forever. The Germans finally have serious artillery which acts to balance out howitzer pwnage.

Their base still looked like the surface of the moon when I was done with them though. :)
