How good does a digital camera need to be to be suitable for posting pics on a website and nothing else?

A camera that can do 1024x768 is enough for web publishing. I think even the $300 cameras of today exceeds that capability. Just make sure you got one with a good lens and CCD.

My camera's max output res. is 1600x1200, but I never use it. It's too big for web (I'm going to reduce the size later anyway), and it takes up flash memory space.
 
digital camera's are pretty cheap......you can probbaly find some for around $80? that's like, w/ a res of 640x480 or something. 🙂
