How good/bad is T-Mobile in Silicon Valley?

I'm getting pretty enticed with the T-Mobile deal of $50/month for unlimited talk, text, and data. Sure, the data gets throttled at 2GB, but I don't use 2GB anyway. I've currently got Sprint and I get coverage basically everywhere in Silicon Valley. When I roadtrip I get coverage everywhere. 4G for me has been very spotty though and loses 4G signal frequently after it locks on. Thinking about moving to T-Mobile. How is it?

in city centers it may be better than sprint, and 3g when you have it will definitely be faster than sprint 3g. but coverage on interstates is limited to edge or even gprs in some areas.

I had it up there a year ago. Its not so great. Voice is fine but data is spotty . 3g wasn't so fast and you could be on edge in some areas. I moved to Verizon around then and don't regret it. Tmo up there is probably only better than att overall.

Depends. Sprint doesn't work very well in my apartment but it works very well a block away.
My wife has the SGSII and never had a problem to report.

I've been using them for 2.5 years or so out here, and it's OK. it can be spotty in places, but when heading out to the nice scenic areas, don't expect it to work.

It's flawless in my apartment--but then again, I see a cell tower through my window, about a block away. 😛

East Bay, btw.

Oh 4G? no idea.
