How good / bad are Outpost.com's Hitachi hard drive rebates?

Are they as hit and miss as Outpost's Seagate rebates?

I had to go to the BBB for one Hitachi rebate ($80!), but they paid. The problem was that Hitachi reused the promotion number months apart and then refused to pay the second rebate due to a "duplicate submission". That seemed like a one time thing. Seagate OTOH seems to be avoiding rebates, or at least making people resubmit, from ANY store.

I've never had any other hard drive rebates from Fry's go unpaid (Maxtor, Seagate, WD, Hitachi) and i've done dozens.

Well I am not sure about going through Outpost, but Hitachi as a whole I haven't heard the greatest things about their rebates.

Oh and by the way not really the right forum for this!!!

I received mine in reasonable time back when they had the !60GB drive rebate going. I did buy it in the store (Frye's) as opposed to on line (Outpost) though.

I got my Seagate rebates after 3 long months.
Have not received Hitachi rebates for 2 prior purchases yet, one from over a year ago. That drive crashed and they're refusing to replace it under warranty because it expired a year and a month after purchase.
