I was wondering why Sims 2 University was running so slow, so I checked my hard drive with disk defragmenter. The drive itself didn't look so bad, but the Sims 2 database was split into 1,400 fragments! Yeah, I think that would do it :)

..I keep a syst.maint.shortcut on my desktop and click it at the end of the day...zips right thru it in a few min.

total fragmentation = 40%
file fragmentation = 80%

that's on my d: drive. so it's defragging now and i'll have to go idle for this to work efficiently. bye :p

The last time I defragged was about 3 months ago, so now....probably close to 50% fragmented
