Yes, premium gas, AND 34mpg highway with Automatic, consider the tiny size that will get you killed in a real accident and we have a real winner. /sarcasm

Was thinking along the same lines here. Tiny death trap that drinks premium gas? Gimme the Ford Fiesta if I am considering any of those.

[little girl scream] ZOMG! I'm afraid to drive a small car because the big bad suv will get me!!! [/little girl scream]

It's that mentality that has half of America driving around in big gas guzzling trucks and suvs in the first place. 🙄

Fiat cars were junk back in the day.
The Fiat loaders we use today are junk.
What's changed with the car?

If I want to blow the doors off absolutely every vehicle on the road I'll take the motorcycle and get 40mpg while doing so. 😛

You're not even remotely close. Plenty of stock sports cars are pretty close, and a lot of them aren't stock for long. Heck a relatively mildly modded 5.0 Mustang will walk away.

Really? How many stock cars can run 0-60 in under 4 seconds? How many would even bother to try racing a motorcycle? I can answer that: damned near zero.

Last I checked a Z06 will run a run the 1/4 in around 11 flat, and an R1 will run it in around 10.5s.
The ZR1 would be quicker than a Z06.

I've seen a GTR take off so hard on the street that I doubt many bikes could hang with one up to 60.

My Kawasaki touring bike (11.06) will beat a Z06 at 12.4 in the 1/4.
A sport bile will eat it up.

From what I've seen, your bike will eat up the Duc then as well.

Also, chances are a Z06 that's going to race you isn't going to be stock, the ownership is pretty extreme in that sense. Besides that, the "fast" street cars these days are well into the single digit 1/4 times. Obviously those are few and far between on a daily basis, but there's plenty out there in the 11s & 10s. The separation between bikes and cars (in stock trim) isn't as big as it was 15-20 years ago.

EDIT: After re-reading that, I'm not really trying to argue bikes are "slow" or anything lol. Just saying there are a lot of quick street cars out there. And actually to bring that point to topic, compare this Fiat to the smallest econboxes from the early 90s or 80s. It's probably quicker than the majority of sportcars were in the early 80s.

I drive past this driveway every day and there are two cars parked in it. One is an early 70's Chevy El Camino. The other is a red Fiat 500. The Fiat is shiny new and the El Camino is rotting away in the driveway...never used.

You can pit your imaginary cars and their imaginary owners up against my real bike anytime you want. There might be a couple guys here who could beat me...maybe, but they have a lot more money into their cars than I do into my stock bike...just sayin' 😛

The point is that there are bigger safer cars that get better mileage on regular gas.

2012 Honda Civic gets 39 highway on regular gas and according to truecar DX trim is only $850 more expensive than Fiat 500 in my area. No brainer in my book.

I'd much rather be in my car during an accident than on a bike even though it only does mid 4's for 0-60 and mid-high 12s for 1/4 mile 😛

As long as you're happy beating beating absolutely every vehicle on the road (that's not faster than you), that's all that matters. :colbert: :awe:

And it's your odd mentality that makes you ignore the bigger, more affordable (including MPG), probably safer, yet COMPACT cars on the market and attack trucks and suvs 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄

Where did I say I ignore larger, more affordable cars? 😕

I'm not buying a Fiat 500. My next car will likely be a Ford Focus that gets 38mpg freeway.

Get out your jump to conclusions mats everyone. It's the AT way.

Guess you guys didn't notice the 😛 in my responses.

Christ, take everything literally...🙄

BTW-My bike is capable of running in the low 11s in the 1/4 mile. 😉

Why did you quote a time for the 10 year old C5 Z06? The current C6 Z06, with a not insignificant 100 HP more than a C5, is capable of low 11's.
Meh, not a corvette bandwagoner. I searched Z06. Didn't know about C5/C6.
