How fattening are bananas?

Yes, you can diet and lose weight from a balanced diet, but by carb counting you can make your diet more effective and reduce hunger.

Atlthough, I don't know what would be so unbalanced about a low carb diet.

I like bananas but try to have them early in the day and just a couple mornings a week.There is something about bananas and grapes which makes me crave additional sugar so I watch my intake.
 
you guys need to start your own carb thread and stop highjacking this awesome banana thread.

Edit: somebody posted a long time ago that all banana's are sterile. Unless something is done to make the fruit horny again, there will be a sharp decline in banana production. It was from a CNN story, kinda interesting.

So, bananas are an unnaturalization of a fruit product? That can't be good.

Even though they're not the healthiest choice, I eat them for the taste. Not often, but they're good.



 
95calories per banana. 3 bananas per meal doesn't add up to much, you just are going to end up malnurished from not eating enough variety, you won't have enough cals to really get fat either. you'd probably just end up adapting to starvation calories and not lose much weight, feel like a monkey, smell like one to boot😉

Im aware of that, but the whole net carb, no carb, crap is CRAP. Its a marketing gimic. Most of these products contain sugar liqour, or other things that are extremely high in calories, even if they are low in carbs or "net carbs".

I lost alot of weight with just a balanced diet, and moderate excercise. Theres no need to limit carbs if you have a balanced diet.

the whole banana thing was really just on a whim, i have NO desire or intention of going on an all banana diet.

Celery is the 'perfect' food, meaning it has negative calories. Then again, if you eat nothing but celery, you die. No nutrition, at all.
