How fast would you drive on the interstate highways if there was no limit?

How fast would you drive and why? How would your type of vehicle and gas mileage affect your decision?

I'd probably do about 100-110

edit: by how fast would you go i mean if theres no traffic and conditions are good etc...

note i said interstate highways, not local freeways...i'm talking l.a. to vegas type roads where ithere's not a turn for 30+ miles

also mention what car you'd be driving (or bike)

i would do 90-100. Its fast enough for me..and going 120 miles per hour for a long time cant be good on gas milage and wear and tear on your engine.

I drive a 93 V6 camry

Totally dependant on traffic, driving conditions, location and how I'm feeling. On avg, I would probably cruise between 80 and 90 if it was safe.

On those stretches of highway that are straight and flat, probably 100-110 with a different car (mine only does 80mph without hurting the engine). For something like I-5 probably 80

No more than 80. Too much wind noise in my car above that, which makes driving less fun. Right now I only go 80 if it's late at night or if I really want to get somewhere. 70 is fast enough given the traffic conditions during the times I usually drive. Anything faster and it becomes difficult to find clear lanes.

usually 80-90. My g20 is pretty darn comfortable and can get pretty fast, but when i hit 90+ it just starts to lose quality of ride ;) at 80 it's wonderful and fun.

there is still the point where it becomes reckless, and suicidal. this is coming from a guy who drove his saab turbo at 135+ a lot...

EDIT: oooga, that first line of your sig is great!

Depends on the car and on the traffic conditions. My current car, I'd say about 80 or so on open freeway in good conditions.

There is no set speed, I would simply drive what I feel is comfortable to drive and that's exactly what I do now. Of course I'm well past the age range where I feel I'm invincible so that helps govern my comfort level. I would support doing away with speed limits if everyone below the age of 25 lost their driving privilidges.

If the car and road condition can handle it I'd do 160-170KM/H.

The highway from LA-LV is no longer as free as it used to be 10yrs ago. Now it's hustlin' and bustlin with too much traffic to go anywhere quick. Went there last summer and most were going 120-130KM/H. Seems like the slower drivers act as a balance and keep other not so light footed people in check.

At night though the traffic speeds are a different story. Everybody is in a rush to go home and take a dump. Or so it seems. With visibility decreased you'd think people would go slower. Everybody is tailing and pushing their way up and up.
