When I went to the casino I was able to make $10 last all night playing video poker and blackjack... I don't know how you could lose $200 in a night unless you were betting max all the time like all the old ladies do.

this is why I play 2/4 limit

Try the tables @ Flamingo 2-3am. LOL @ drunkards.

Also, Excalibur regularly has a 2-4 limit table, unlike it's nearby brethren (Luxor, Mandalay)

sometimes though, the drunks can be overwhelming. I was at a 3/6 limit table where every round of betting was getting capped and usually 7 people saw the flop and 5 people would make it to showdown. Pots were averaging $300. Some of the hands that were winning made me want to puke.

You gotta adjust your strategy when you play low limit fools because the expectation is that everyone is going to want to see everything to the flop

thus, for me, the "perfect" limit strategy is to play hella conservatively, then rape huge pots when I hit something crazy on the flop (ie play 7/8 suited or low pair and hit a straight or 3 of a kind)

I was at a table where in 6 hands, 4 of us had pocket aces and lost.

Pai Gow Poker lasts a long time as well. The hands/per hour in this game is not that high and it is not a very streaky game.

ding ding ding.

PGP is the best value at the casino. Making minimum bets, you can easily kill a few hours with 200 bucks at the PGP table, plus soak up some drinks along the way.

DO NOT play mini-PGP though, it's bullshit.

Good luck finding a $5 blackjack table anywhere but the most obscure Casinos.. Think $10-15 minimum.. and those will usually be full..

buy a Hold 'Em book for $20 & read it. Then take the other $80 & play by the book you will do well on a cheap limit table with $80. Unless I'm having a bad night I can turn $80 into $300 by grinding it out. Poker might not have the best odds, but if you play smart winning becomes a lot easier. Winning Low Limit Hold 'Em by Lee Jones is a good book for limit games, if you go to a No Limit table I like Super System Vol 1 by Doyle Brunson You can read a book and even play online for a week or so before you go. That alone would put you ahead of a lot of people at the low stakes tables. And the great thing about Poker over Slots is the more you play the better you get.

Your gf probably won't let you do this...but one time in particular I remember sitting down at a 2/5 hold'em table at the MGM with $100 at 10-11 am and playing until 8 or 9 pm. I got a drink from the cocktail waitress every half hour. Near the end the waitress was bringing me a little bottle of water with my jack and diet...Even with giving a $1-2 tip for each of the 15 drinks I had, I came out a little bit ahead at the table because I played so conservatively.

Other table games are a lot streakier, like blackjack and craps...but they do offer good odds.

Where are you heading? Vegas?

If your new to casino's penny slots can be a good place to start as they can last awhile and the longer you sit there, the more free drinks you get.

And the odds aren't super stacked against you in many of the small denomination slots. Also machines don't get "hot streaks" that's just not how the math works, so hopping from machine to machine after people get off one because it's not paying will do nothing to your odds.
