$200 can last you at least half an hour @ the cheapest 21 tables (which is a game with good odds of winning if you know how to).

OP, after I stopped laughing I gave your query some serious consideration ...

$200 will be gone in nothing flat depending upon what game(s) you choose to play. I haven't read your entire thread but the best advice I can give id DON'T ... I mean DON'T go to the casinos AT ALL. The "cards are stacked against you and you will LOSE your money quickly, very quickly!

A better option for you is to go into your bathroom and flush the $200 down the toilet ...

Advice you will probably ignore ... form the only person who goes through Vegas and does not gamble ...

Um, please explain how flushing $200 down the toilet is a better option than gambling it at a casino? I mean did you even bother to think about your analogy? It doesn't make any sense.

You're guaranteed to lose $200 flushing it down the toilet, but if you gamble it, at least you have a chance of winning more.

Plus if you flush that much money you might clog the works and then depending on the clog need to call roto rooter. At least with gambling you get some entertainment out of it. Even if you don't win. Oh and that 200 goes into the economy too and might help some native americans depending on where you gamble.

The one problem I find is if want to win money playing nickel slots you have to bet the max bet each time or you never really win. You can stretch it out playing the minimum but its little risk little reward.

Since I know I will lose everything in the end, I would rather limit my gambling budget to $20 than $200. When I lose $20 I can still say I had some fun and am only down $20, with $200 I have a harder time convincing myself I had "fun".

Blackjack, craps, and poker are probably the three best games to play, but you need to know how to play/bet the last two. Blackjack's probably the safest bet for a beginner.

LOL

$200 @ blackjack tables = 1 hour tops

Learn how to play poker or pai gow and you can last DAYS off $200

We lowered our limit to $100. =] Keep the other 100 for other reasons.

20$ lasted me 1.5 hrs at penny slots. I ended up leaving with 70$ after getting the jackpot.

200$ lasted me 5 minutes at Blackjack (100$ per hand). I lost the first hand (dealer hit 21), put down another $100 and got my 100$ back and then left.

Yup, I am totally not a gambler :D

It can go really fast depending on which slots you play. You just have to experience it for yourself. You'll be like "OH SHIT, I'm down $200 already?"

I'm a mathematician for a slot machine manufacturer so this may be a little more rigorous than you're looking for.

The Kelly Criterion (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kelly_criterion) is the formula you can use to determine how long your money will last. Alternatively if you know how long you'd like to play this formula will tell you the size of the bets you should make to maximize your probability of playing that long.

With $100 as your bankroll don't expect to be making very large bets or you will likely go broke before you're ready to leave. You're looking at probably $.20 a go on slots and $5 a go (or less if you can find it) at blackjack.

yes, but blackjack is one of the more noob-friendlier games. since the OP is asking us how to spend his money I doubt he's a very experienced gambler :p

Why spend $20 at a movie? Why spend $100 to go to a baseball game? Why shell out to see the Stones in concert? Might as well just flush that money down the toilet and stay home....

For most people it's entertainment. Nobody is forcing you to play. If you don't enjoy it then do something else with your money.

$100 into a nickel video poker machine should cover the rent on your seat for the day.

I played an hour and won about a grand on a $5 min crap table starting with $100.

Then again I lost $200 in about 20 minutes on a $10 min crap table another time. :D

It's fun though, especially craps. Blackjack and slots bore the hell out of me.

I lost over $200 on a single blackjack hand once, because the dealer was showing a 5 and I kept get cards to split against it. Needless to say, the dealer hit 21.

play penny slots, will last hours if not days.

Yeah but on the penny slots, they still can get you to bet $1 at a time.

If you can sit there and stare at a machine while betting .01 cent per spin, more power to you. I'd rather be pecked to death by a duck.

oh, to answer your question, the best game to play for an extended period with little risk is limit poker. you could literally play 2/4 limit all day. It's the only game at the casiono where you can have a positive expectation, assuming you know what you are doing

As mentioned earlier in the thread, learn how to play pai gow poker. You can play a long time and not win or lose much money.

the best part about limit poker is that, even though the house takes a rake, you're playing against OTHER PEOPLE, which means you make money from other people. If you go at the right time, chances are at least a few people at the table will be drunk, and if you're any good at poker, it's easy pickins for you, unless you catch a bad break.

$200 can last a few days if you are lucky...

every time I go i bring 150. i play $5 blackjack, video poker @ the bar, and sometimes craps. it goes quick if i play craps, but $5 blackjack usually lasts a while and i get comps :D

this is why I play 2/4 limit

Try the tables @ Flamingo 2-3am. LOL @ drunkards.

Also, Excalibur regularly has a 2-4 limit table, unlike it's nearby brethren (Luxor, Mandalay)
