The launch is only a few days away. So, compared to the 5870, how much faster will it be?

I voted over 30%, statistically that gives me the best chance of being correct as it covers a range of 70% and not just 5% like the other brackets :p

Seriously though... faster at what? With what setup? Is price:FPS factored? Is power consumption considered?

Worst poll everrrrrrrrrrr...

No "Who cares?" option? :(

Seriously, if you haven't learned anything else useful, take home the "It will likely be faster in some things, and slower in others."

Overall in gaming that is. No specific settings.
And no, neither p/p nor W is considered.

You should have put the below two options only:

1. Fast enough
2. Not fast enough

:p

Poll lacks options.

We hear the rumours of 5-10%, and the only benchmarks we have seen have been green team provided.

I'd like to see independent benchmarks in a wide list of games.

So with 5-10% being the best the green team can do, I wouldn't be suprised to see fermi actually end up being maybe on par, or even a few percent below the current red team performance, when tested independently over many games.

Guess we shall find out soon enough.

I have been saying around GTX 290 performance since last Fall and I am sticking to it.

I voted 10-15%.

A few months ago I said the GTX480 would be around ~30% faster than the 5870. What changed now is that ATI has been slowly improving performance with each monthly driver, and since the release of the 5000 series 6 months ago, I believe they added on average 5-10% more performance. Additionally, we have the rumors about the GTX480 being a 480 core part, instead of having 512 cores. So it loses some power there (-6.6%)

Anyways it should be a powerful card, and may be noticeably faster in some cases, especially situations that require more memory and/or higher bandwidth.

I took a stab and went with 5-10%. Of course, it could be 200% faster, it doesn't matter to me at this piont, like many I stopped waiting. :)

More than likely it will be the top GPU on the market, hands-down. If they have the quantity that one rumour is suggesting, and they price it right.....they will sell as many as they can produce.

I'll vote for too little too late, which is what this card is.

Based on price information I feel confident it will offer 5-10% improved performance over the 5870. Anything more than that and we'd be seeing a more expensive card than what the speculated price is suggesting. Cherry picked results may show as much as 50% improvement in cherry picked situations, check with Green Team members of the board for the heads up when those hit (Read: Ignore it like usual).
